Harbin appears to be the corn capital.  There is corn on every corner and in many forms.  My goal is to find a huge bag of popcorn to bring home.  I passed by some homes with corn hanging all around the rafters and was told by my taxi driver that they were drying it for popcorn.  Much much more to report, but I have a job interview in six minutes!!!  I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey!
Seems word to be writing to you on Wednesday, yet reading your post from tomorrow-Thursday already! Glad to hear all the news and that school is going well! Good luck with the job and travels! We are all good here- Jack Lee is doing fine in 2nd grade- though he was already at the principals office on day 2!At least he came home and told me about it! Weather cooled off just in time for school- 62 degrees today- fall is in the air! New is full of the Republican convention here.

Julie, thanks for writing. We are not too sure how Jin is doing in second grade yet. His teacher seems to be very strick and has a system where they have a green day (good), a yellow day (warning), an orange day (bad), etc. So far, he has had mostly yellow days and we are sure if that speaks to his behavior or his teachers! At first I was coming down so hard on him, but now I've lightened up. We are signing Jin up for Tae Kwon Do and Gong Fu -- so you better get jack some lessons so they can spar :-) We are trying to CHANNEL his aggression -- which he has plenty of.

Please keep me in the Camp Choson loop and let me know what our role for next year will be. I would like to do it again if we can, and if it is art, I will keep my radar on for Korean art activities.

Take care. Thanks for writing.

Hi Lori,
It has been fun keeping up with you via the blog. I just read an excellent collection of short stories by a Yiyun Li, a young Chinese author. Her stories were great, and I learned a lot about Chinese culture. I also just started a Qigong class. My instructor said that 160 million people in China practice Qigong daily. I plan on sticking with the class through the semester. I was wondering if you have tried a tea egg yet. Have a great day. Good luck with the job.
